Holy smokes the food is good and plenty. Unassuming dining area, very friendly service, and quick cooking times. I stopped in for take out, ordered a gyro and spinach pie. I was offered something to drink while I waited, which is a nice touch. Food was ready before I knew it and smelled very good. I thought the spinach pie was great and the gyro had a generous supply of meat which was hand cut and well spiced. Definitely worth a try!

I agree with everyone... This place is fantastic. The gyro, spanakopites, souvlakia, and keftedes are out of this world. You will never want to go to a coney place for "Greek" again. Gyro Kafe is my happy place and so close to home!

Think of the Gyro Cafe as a non-chain fast casual restaurant. They have tables inside like a diner. Real silverware, too. Gyros are very good. The Greek salad was fresh and had a classic Greek dressing. French fries are thick cut. Service is excellent.

Great new place! The menu doesn't bombard you with too many options like many restaurants tend to do. They focus on their specialty: gyros. The Greek Meatball Gyro is AWESOME! I like that they offer several styles of gyros and have authentic Greek options.

OMG! I can't begin to describe how good the gyros are here. Not overly spicy so no heartburn after eating. I actually get cravings for them. I always order extra meat in my gyro but that's because I want a little left over to snack on later or in the morning. The regular size is gyro is not skimpy by any means. This is not a fancy place to eat but it is clean and the staff is always friendly. My granddaughter loves the chicken tenders and says that they are "the best ever".

Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. The Gyro Cafe will make you want to come back for more and eventually they will know your name. Hands down the best spot in the Shelby Twp/Macomb Twp area to get a gyro or souvlaki. I've been here a handful of times and every time the food is excellent. Whether if its the standard lamb/beef gyro, seasoned to perfection, or the chicken souvlaki gyro, with it's tender all white meat, you cannot go wrong. My favorite is the pork souvlaki, it is absolutely amazing. The pork is well seasoned and tender and leaves you craving for more, so be sure to order an extra skewer. The tzatziki sauce for the gyro's is made to perfection, good balance between the yogurt and cucumber. They also have some of, if not the best saganaki in the area. If you are craving a salad be sure to get the greek village salad, it will not disappoint. You can tell by the quality of the food that the owners care about what they are putting out. It's as close to getting an authentic souvlaki from Greece without actually having to go there. Next time you are searching for somewhere to go to feed your craving, check out The Gyro Cafe where eventually they will get to know your name. Cheers!

Best Gyros in this area by far!!!!! Everything they have here is home made. Tastes just like Greek town. Good portions too

Friendly service... and the best gyro I have had in years! It was large, with flavorful, thin sliced meat. The food was hot, and the ketchup was cold, like it SHOULD be. :) If you want a great casual atmosphere with the best gyro, this small gem is a no brainer. Opa!

The Gyro Cafe is Shelby Township's answer to GREAT Greek food in the Shelby/Macomb area! Greek owned with authentic Greek food, and the quality to make you want to come back for more. Been here a few times already and each time is better than the last! I always get a lamb/beef gyro with an extra side of tzatziki. Everything about their gyros is great - flavorful juicy meat, fresh cold tzatziki, warm fluffy pita bread, and fresh tomatoes & onions. They also have amazing Spinach pie. The phyllo tastes great and the spinach mixture in the pie is bursting with spinach and feta flavor. Sooo yummy! The Gyro Cafe offers a limited, but delicious menu. Sides include fries, rice, pita or salads. They have an amazing village salad...with these, it's all about the dressing, as my Greek Goddess mother, Helen of Troy, says. Just because the menu is limited doesn't mean it's okay...it's AMAZING! One of my favorite "dishes" here is the saganaki. The kasseri they use is strong, but when they light that thing on fire, watch out...your taste buds will go crazy. When the saganaki is lit and doused in lemon juice, the cheese has a perfect crisp and the right amount of gooey-ness to compliment your pita bread just right. I am too impatient to wait until the next time I visit the Gyro Cafe. Would love a fresh, yummy gyro right now!

Had to go here based on fellow yelpers who highly recommended this restaurant vouching that it's better than going to greektown. To my surprise it surely was :). Had the chicken souvlaki and village salad. Food was so good that I don't even remember how much I paid. Price is irrelevant when consuming a quality meal. Great food and staff, and clean restaurant. Glad we came here. Don't have to drive to greektown. Saving on both gas and wear and tear on my car.

I got to start with the 5 star phone service by the order taker LINDA! Her enthusiasm-politeness for taking my order was certainly appreciated, and when I arrived 10 minutes later to pick it up, she was still on top of her game! Extraordinary Service! Now on to the GYRO. I'm a huge fan for a moist-tender gyro. Well the GYRO CAFE, sold me a great gyro Gyro that was loaded with beef-lamb combo, tzaki sauce, thin sliced onion slivers & tomatoes, plus the pita was fresh & slightly grilled!

By far best beef and lamb gyro! So glad they decided on Macomb area. We don't have enough gems around these parts. Everything's made to order and fresh, with generous portion sizes. The staff are sweet as pie and do their best to not disappoint you. I highly recommend.

The food was great! I had the gyro and a mini greek salad. The gyro was loaded w meat and the mini salad was alot bigger than I expected. Both were delicious. My husband ordered a greek combo plate w spinach pie and two other greek specialties. All authentic home made. All really good. Service was excellent. Nice atmosphere, nice people, super clean. We'll be back!

Yummy!! We both got a Greek salad & a gyro for lunch. Their portions are huge and very reasonably priced. Everything was delicious including the baklava for dessert. We'll be back for sure

Visited there today for an early dinner. Excellent food, not too busy and good service. Ordered the Greek salad. Excellent salad and tasty dressing. I would suggest asking for the dressing on the side. The salad is large and I wasn't able to finish. I took it home, but it will probably be soggy tomorrow since the dressing was all over. Will definitely return. Keep up the good customer service and quality food!

Excellent juicy hand carved right off the spit!! Finally real Greek food in Shelby Township! The gyro meat is sliced thick and served juicy with very generous portions for $5.95. We had the Saganaki and it was the best I've ever had and I'm a frequent flier down to Greektown downtown.

Absolutely amazing!! I was told the souvlaki is authentic and I was not lied to. The pork souvlaki reminded me of being in Greece. The gyro was incredible too. Tons of food and very reasonable. Very happy and can't wait to come back.

Just had my first gyro from this place and it was EXCELLENT! Quality ingredients, HUGE portion, and amazing service. I waited for mine (a to go order) and the girl at the counter was so sweet! She had a nice conversation with me as I waited, so, as I was just standing there, I didn't feel awkward at all. Please give this place your business!!
